The OVA have recorded the existing blue and other plaques in the Otter Valley. See the map below which marks the locations of blue plaques and shows photos along with a link to a brief history where available.
We have also started a project (July 2024) to consider erecting further blue plaques for notable people who lived in the area and made a significant contribution to human welfare or happiness.
To view the map:
- Click the square symbol, top right, to open the map full screen in a new tab.
- The map can be zoomed in and out by using the mouse scroll wheel.
- A list of nominations can be seen on the left of the screen (click nn more or the down arrow below the red tick symbol to expand the list )
- Click on any item in the list and the location and a photo (where available) will be displayed
or
- Click on the pins on the map for the address and photo (where available)
then
- Click on the photo to enlarge the image and view other photos (where available)
- Use the back arrow to the top left of the photo to clear the image
- Use the back arrow beside the address to return to the list
The Budleigh Information Centre has designed a walk, and a leaflet (which can be obtained in their office), around the town to view the locations and blue plaques:
